Take part in this year's Poppy Appeal
Volunteers needed to distribute poppies in Paisley town centre on Friday 8th November.
As part of Poppy Scotland's annual Poppy Appeal, health and safety partner, Gareth Richards, is calling for council colleagues to join him in Paisley town centre to distribute poppies and collect donations in support of the Armed Forces community.
Gareth said: "This is a great opportunity to engage with the members of the public and show our support for our ex-service men and women and their families in Scotland.
"Last year we raised almost £800, and over the past 3 years we've collected almost £3,000. Now we need your help once again."
On the day, volunteers will be briefed, allocated a location, and given all the necessary resources and support to distribute poppies and collect donations.
You can choose whether a morning or afternoon slot works best for you and can apply to use part of your two days volunteering special leave.
If you are interested in helping out, please discuss with your line manager and let Gareth know whether you would prefer to come along in the morning or afternoon.
All volunteering requests will be considered in line with the demands of the service and an your workload requirements.
To sign up, or if you have any questions, please contact Gareth on gareth.richards@renfrewshire.gov.uk or 07483121273.
