Hello, I'm delighted to introduce myself as your new menopause champion. My work within the People and Organisational Development team focuses on supporting colleague wellbeing, and I am passionate about providing policies and resources that assist you during some of life's challenging times.

With more than 8,500 people working here at the council and almost two thirds of employees potentially going through the menopause at any one time, this is a hugely significant topic and it's important to remember that everyone's personal experiences and needs may vary greatly.

My top priority as menopause champion is to continue to raise awareness and understanding about menopause.  As your menopause champion, I will be around to offer guidance and advice, whether you are experiencing menopause yourself or supporting a colleague. My hope is that everyone, regardless of background, age or gender, feels comfortable talking about menopause and that all line-managers are confident and well-equipped to guide and support their teams.

Introducing our new Menopause Forum

I am super excited to share the news that we will soon be launching a dedicated online menopause forum for colleagues.

We've listened to your requests for a safe, supportive space where colleagues can meet via Microsoft Teams to discuss all things menopause and hear about the experiences of others.

We're working hard to make sure we build a positive, friendly, and inclusive working environment that offers the right support when you need it, and this new forum is a massive step in that direction.

Look out for the announcement of our first session coming soon.
