What are community councils?

Community councils are organised groups of residents who come together to make decisions about their local area. They play an important role in local democracy and share the views of residents with the Council, NHS and Police Scotland.

Community Council activities can include things like representing their community interests in the activities of other organisations, campaigning on local issues, conducting surveys, and helping to plan local events and projects.
