Take care of your physical, mental and financial health in 2025
Access resources and key policies for supporting employee wellbeing.
At Renfrewshire Council, your health and wellbeing is a priority and we have a range of resources and policies to help support you. These can all be found on our employee wellbeing hub on the 'Staff info' page of our public website. You can access this on any device at any time, day or night.

Here's a quick look at some of the support available and a preview of what else is coming during 2025.
Get fit with OneRen
For those of you looking to get fit and healthy this year, OneRen's partner offer is for you. As a council employee you can get discounted membership to their six fitness suites, and variety of fitness classes every week.
To join, visit any OneRen leisure centre with Renfrewshire Council identification—either a current payslip or ID badge. For more information contact the membership team at OneRen_membership@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
Support with mental health
If you or someone you know is worried about mental health, you can speak to one of our Mental Health First Aiders. They're not therapists but they are trained to help you find the support you need.
You can also arrange to speak to a counsellor from our employee assistance service, Time for Talking, which is free and available 24/7.
Help with money worries
If money is troubling you, it's always a good idea to talk about it and find out what you can do to improve your situation.
Our Advice Works service and the Renfrewshire Citizen's Advice Bureau offer free, confidential advice on money and debt. They can also check if you're getting any benefits you might be entitled to. You'll find the link to both services on our employee wellbeing hub.
Plus, this year, our colleagues in People and Organisational Development will be working with local credit unions to help raise awareness of the fair and safe credit options available to you as a Renfrewshire Council employee.
If you have caring responsibilities
If you provide care for a family member or friend with a disability, or someone with physical or mental ill health, you might be entitled to additional support at work. It's also a great time to join Carers Connected, our peer support network who will be meeting online for their friendly Care for a Cuppa sessions each month throughout 2025.
Supporting menopause
Supporting menopause continues to be a priority for 2025. Our menopause champion Fiona Sinclair will soon be sharing the feedback and next steps from our recent Supporting Menopause at Work survey. These will include the launch of Let's Pause, our monthly get-togethers for colleagues impacted by menopause as well as an online Q&A session with Fiona this springtime.
Don't miss...
We've got plenty more in the pipeline for 2025 including a mix of wellbeing focussed RenTalk sessions throughout the year. In addition, our People and Organisational Development team will be getting out and about to meet with managers and colleagues on the front line and in schools to ensure everyone knows where to access our key policies and supports.
Finally, we're delighted to announce plans for improving support for breastfeeding mums across the council. This year will see more training and guidance for managers, as well as a targeted approach to developing available information and facilities in key areas.
