Council to stop using X and move to Bluesky
Renfrewshire Council will no longer use X, the social media platform, as a corporate communications social media channel.
The decision follows a review of the use of X by the council.
Lucy Adamson, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager, said: "We regularly monitor and review the performance of all the channels we use to communicate with the public, our partners and the media and as such, we have decided to stop using X and move to Bluesky.
"X has changed significantly as a social media platform over recent years and the channels people and organisations follow continues to diversify and change. We want to ensure we make best use of the channels available with the resource we have."
"We will continue to provide information through a wide range of other channels which also includes the local media, social media, emails, local community groups and networks, our website, print and outdoor materials and a wide range of existing in-person networks. You can view and/or follow the council's Bluesky account at this link.
If you have any questions about this or moving your account to Bluesky, please contact either Jill Castle or Jen Connolly in the communications team.
