RenTalks Learning for Life sessions return for 2025
Upcoming sessions on Buying Additional Annual Leave, waste and recycling, procurement and more...
We've got some superb RenTalks in the calendar for 2025 already and we're delighted to share with you some of what's in store over the coming weeks.
First up a session on Buying Additional Annual Leave (BAAL) 2025 on Wednesday 15 January at 2.15pm. If you've been thinking about applying for additional annual leave this year, but you need more info to help you decide if it's right for you, or if you're a manager who needs to learn more about the process, join Ian Whyte from our People & Organisational Development team for information and guidance.
On Thursday 30 January, you can meet Jenny Bowles and Laura Gillan from our Corporate Procurement Team for a session on Understanding procurement at Renfrewshire Council. Jenny and Laura will guide you through all the things you may need to know about buying goods, works and services. This session will help you understand what procurement is, how it works at the council, the dos and don'ts of buying, and what help and resources are available to support you.
Moving into next month, on Thursday 13 February from 3.30pm-4.15pm, we're bringing you a session on Waste and recycling with waste advisors Lesley Rodgers and Rodney Marshall. Join online to learn about our service, how we process waste and recycling in Renfewshire and the impact of the challenges we face day-to-day. You'll also learn how to report any waste-related issues and take away some tips on the various things we can all do to help keep Renfrewshire clean and tidy.
Looking ahead, there's plenty more to come throughout the year including RenTalks on health and wellbeing, menopause, and cyber security.
These engaging and informative sessions take place on Microsoft Teams and all colleagues are invited to join via email. If you don't have a work email address, you can contact internalcommunications@renfrewshire.gov.uk to sign up for any session using an alternative email account.
Join the sessions for insights into various aspects of the council and discover more about your colleagues, their roles and how to make the most of the many opportunities to collaborate and provide the best services we can for the people of Renfrewshire.
Check out the RenTalks webpage for more information and to find out how you can host your own RenTalk session for colleagues.
