Want to learn more about our organisation and the important topics of the day? RenTalks is a series of virtual learning sessions, bringing you key insights from different people across the council and our partners.
Join us on Microsoft Teams for these friendly sessions where you will hear from and interact with our expert speakers, get the answers to your questions and discuss lots of helpful topics.
With a combination of sessions sessions for all colleagues and sessions for managers, on everything from cyber security, taking care of our wellbeing, employee benefits; to the environment, our values, the future of our digital experience and much more, there's plenty to learn about and discuss.
RenTalks coming soon
Raising our teens, Thursday 27 March, 3.30pm
Parents and carers are invited along to this RenTalk about navigating the challenges that often come with raising a teenager. An Exchange Counselling Service therapist from Time for Talking will deliver insight and advice you can use to build stronger connections and healthier relationships with the teens in your life. You'll learn about effective communication techniques, how to manage challenging behaviour, and how to support their emotional wellbeing. Whether you're struggling with conflict, looking to foster independence, or simply want to strengthen your bond, this session will provide you with practical strategies to overcome the challenges you may be facing.
An approach to holisitic wellbeing, Tuesday 29 April, 2pm
Your feedback at our RenTalk on work-life balance in November last year, revealed that it's more important than ever for each of us to nurture our mind, body and spirit. To help you do that, our employee counselling service, Time for Talking are hosting this RenTalk session on holistic wellbeing.
The session will guide you through what they describe as "a journey toward inner harmony" as they bring you practical tools, expert insights and guidance to help support your overall health.
How to join a session
RenTalks take place on Microsoft Teams and if you have a council email address, invitations sessions will be sent directly to you.
If you don't have a council email address, don't worry, we can send invites to your personal email account too. Just send an email to internalcommunications@renfrewshire.gov.uk and let us know which sessions you are interested in.

Reasons to host a RenTalk
By sharing your expertise with others, you'll have the opportunity to make new connections and help coworkers learn something new.
RenTalk sessions are an ideal platform to inform and engage with your colleagues across the Council. It's a chance to contribute and talk about what matters to you. You can use it to:
- share advice and key information you want your colleagues to know
- help others in the organisation connect with you the right way
- set realistic ideas and expectations about your service
- dispel any myths or wrong ideas about your service or how you work
- make new contacts, learn about other services and build good working relationships
Hosts are provided with the tools they need to create memorable and engaging RenTalks and are supported by the internal communications team to promote their session.
