Want to learn more about our organisation and the important topics of the day? RenTalks is a series of virtual learning sessions, bringing you key insights from different people across the council and our partners.

Join us on Microsoft Teams for these friendly sessions where you will hear from and interact with our expert speakers, get the answers to your questions and discuss lots of helpful topics.

With a combination of sessions sessions for all colleagues and sessions for managers, on everything from cyber security, taking care of our wellbeing, employee benefits; to the environment, our values, the future of our digital experience and much more, there's plenty to learn about and discuss.

Buying Additional Annual Leave (BAAL) 2025, Wednesday 15 January at 2.15pm. 
If you've been thinking about applying for additional annual leave this year, but you need more info to help you decide if it's right for you, or if you're a manager who needs to learn more about the process, join Ian Whyte from our People & Organisational Development team for information and guidance.

Understanding procurement at Renfrewshire Council, Thursday 30 January at 10am.
Jenny Bowles and Laura Gillan from our Corporate Procurement Team will be your guides through all the things you may need to know about buying goods, works and services. This session will help you understand what procurement is, how it works at the council, the dos and don'ts of buying, and what help and resources are available to support you. 

How to handle waste and recycling, Thursday 27 February at 3.30pm.
Join waste advisors Lesley Rodgers and Rodney Marshall, online to learn about our service, how we process waste and recycling in Renfewshire and the impact of the challenges we face day-to-day. You'll also learn how to report any waste-related issues and take away some tips on the various things we can all do to help keep Renfrewshire clean and tidy.


How to join a session

RenTalks take place on Microsoft Teams and if you have a council email address, invitations sessions will be sent directly to you.

If you don't have a council email address, don't worry, we can send invites to your personal email account too. Just send an email to internalcommunications@renfrewshire.gov.uk and let us know which sessions you are interested in.

Reasons to host a RenTalk

By sharing your expertise with others, you'll have the opportunity to make new connections and help coworkers learn something new.

RenTalk sessions are an ideal platform to inform and engage with your colleagues across the Council. It's a chance to contribute and talk about what matters to you. You can use it to:

  • share advice and key information you want your colleagues to know
  • help others in the organisation connect with you the right way
  • set realistic ideas and expectations about your service
  • dispel any myths or wrong ideas about your service or how you work
  • make new contacts, learn about other services and build good working relationships

Hosts are provided with the tools they need to create memorable and engaging RenTalks and are supported by the internal communications team to promote their session.
