Get period products at public venues

You can get period products from public venues, such as public museums, galleries, libraries and leisure centres across Renfrewshire. 

You can take what you need when you need it. You can also pick up period products up for your family or friends. 

Most public venues will have single use pads and tampons, and may have other products, such as panty liners. 

The products will normally be available in the toilets of the building. They may also be kept at reception desks or other areas, especially if there isn't a public toilet in the building.

If it's not clear where to find them, ask one of the friendly staff who will help you.

There are also free period products in the Atrium toilets at Renfrewshire House in Paisley.

Free period products are also available to all pupils in Renfrewshire secondary schools.

Get period products at community organisations in Renfrewshire

Free period products are available from the community venues listed below. 

In some venues they are available to everyone and in other venues they are currently just available for people using the services. You can see the details below.

Provide period products at your community group

Community groups based in Renfrewshire can get involved in providing sanitary products to the public. Complete the request products for community groups (Hey Girls website).

If you're based in another local authority area, please check with your council what their arrangements are for provision of free period products.

Get period products sent to your home

You can order period products to your home address if you can't access products from a public venue or community organisation, because you 

• live in a rural area
• have a disability
• don't live near a place with free period products
• have another reason why you can't access free products.

This is only available if you confirm you live in Renfrewshire and you can't access free period products in another way.

If this applies to more than one person in your household, please complete a form for each person. 

You will get a 3-month supply of products posted to your home address within 6 to 8 weeks. We provide environmentally friendly, plastic-free single use period products.

To order a supply of free sanitary products, complete the online form on the Hey Girls website and include: 

• your name
• your address 
• the products you want to order.
