Bin to Win
What Bin to Win is and how to take part
What Bin to Win is
You can help to keep Renfrewshire clean and win prizes! Bin to Win is an exciting idea to encourage high school pupils across Renfrewshire to put their rubbish in bins instead of littering.
The initiative will run throughout the school year and will reward high school pupils who help keep our communities clean and tidy with monthly prizes.
Bins with QR codes have been placed in and around Renfrewshire high schools to encourage responsible behaviour and good habits.
How it works
To take part in Bin to Win, you should:
- be a high school pupil in Renfrewshire
- take a photo of yourself putting your rubbish in the bin
- scan the QR code on the bin
- upload your photo, complete our online form and hit submit.
It's that easy!
You can submit up to 3 entries per day. Each entry must include a different photo to qualify. To make sure only high school pupils in Renfrewshire enter, schools will verify that the chosen winners are current pupils.
At the end of each month, 2 lucky winners from each school will be randomly selected.
No details are kept and entries are deleted at the end of each month.
The prizes
The prizes are:
- 1st prize - vouchers for £30
- 2nd prize - vouchers for £20
The vouchers are valid for shopping at popular retailers like One4All (including Primark, H&M, Asos), Game, or Scotland Loves Local.
There's an extra chance to win at the end of each school term. In June and December, 3 vouchers worth £100, £70 and £50 will be awarded to randomly selected pupils from the schools with the most valid entries.
Why we're doing this
We all have a responsibility to keep our communities clean and tidy. Litter is untidy and damages the environment.
It also costs the council money to tidy up which could be spent on important services. Get involved and Bin to Win!
