What MAPPA is, annual reports.

What MAPPA is

Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) was established under the terms of the Management of Offenders (Scotland) Act 2005.

The purpose of MAPPA is to protect the public and to reduce serious harm. In Scotland, MAPPA brings together the police, Scottish Prison Service (SPS), health boards, and local authorities to assess and manage the risk posed by certain categories of offender, including sex offenders and restricted patients.
