Find support to help take care of your wellbeing

Our Taking care of our employee's wellbeing page has lots of guidance and resources to help take care of your mental, physical and financial health. You can view it at any time from any device for access to support and information on:

  • our Mental Health First Aiders and employee counselling service
  • occupational health supports such as physiotherapy referrals
  • keeping fit and our colleague discount at OneRen leisure facilities
  • money advice from Advice Works, Energy Management Unit, Renfrewshire Citizen's Advice Bureau and the Renfrewshire Affordable Credit Alliance.

Visit our employee wellbeing hub.

Flexible working and a healthy work-life balance

We recognise that you may have personal commitments, responsibilities, and interests that impact upon your time and availability. To help you manage your personal circumstances, all colleagues can request a change to their working pattern through our flexible working policy from day one of employment.

Find out about our flexible working policy (Renfrewshire Council intranet).

Get help to cope with caring responsibilities

We have a well-established structure in place to help support our unpaid working carers. This includes up to 5 days (pro rata) paid carers leave during each calendar year, access to Carer's UK digital resources and our popular Carer's Connected forum for colleagues.

Support for menopause at work

We are committed to supporting employee wellbeing at every stage of life. Almost three quarters of our workforce are female which means many colleagues are experiencing perimenopause or menopause at any given time.

We offer a variety of supports and adjustments including menopause related paid leave to help you if you're experiencing menopause symptoms, or if you're supporting someone who is.
