How to make customer and business payments, other payment methods, access other services through MyAccount.

Customer payments
Register for MyAccount
To make a payment for yourself or another individual, you must be registered with MyAccount. You'll need to create your own MyAccount profile. It's quick to do - all you need is an email address.
How to register on MyAccount:
- Go to Pay it online - Customer.
- Select Register for MyAccount.
- Select Register in the Register for MyGovScot box.
- Enter your details.
- You will receive two emails to confirm your username and give you a one-time password.
- Activate your account by clicking the link in your email

Make a customer payment
To pay online:
- go to Pay it online - Customer
- sign in
- go to the Services area and select the Pay it online - Customer form or select the service from your Favourites section
- you will receive your confirmation email with an authorisation code and the payment will be logged in your Requests history.
What you can pay as an individual customer
Customers can pay:
- rent
- council tax
- benefits overpayments
- planning applications
- penalty charge notices
- other invoices (e.g. sundry income)
- service charges
- non-domestic rates.

Business payments
To make a payment on behalf of a business, you don't need a MyAccount profile at present.
Make a business payment
To make a payment on behalf of a business:
- go to Pay it online - Business
- this will take you to the Pay it online - Business form without the need to log in to an account
- you will receive a payment confirmation email and authorisation code.
What you can pay on behalf of a business
You can pay:
- non-domestic rates
- commercial rent
- planning applications
- repairs, environmental and other sundry invoices
- other services such as taxi test booking.
Other payment methods
If you prefer, you can make payments in other ways:
- pay your council tax by direct debit
- 0300 300 0300 (select the option for payments) - this service is available 24 hours a day
- PayPoint
- Post office
- cash at customer services centres and customer service points.
Using MyAccount to access other services
The benefits of using MyAccount include:
- free, 24/7 access to your accounts and a range of council services
- online account balance information and payment details
- forms pre-populated with some of your details
- record of your payment history and receipts.
As well as making payments using MyAccount, you can access other online services including:
- set up or amend your direct debit for Council Tax
- tell us about any changes in address or household details
- apply for housing benefit and upload your supporting proof
