National Entitlement Card (NEC)
The National Entitlement Card (NEC) is a Scottish smartcard used for free or reduced travel costs, membership to libraries or public leisure centres and discounts for young people.
You can get an NEC if you are:
- aged between 5 and 25
- registered as having a disability
- over 60.
If you are aged between 5 and 21 years old, you can get free bus travel from 31 January 2022.
