Spree show

Keep busy this October week with The Spree

The Spree is back this October and I can't wait.

This year the main venue, County Square's Spiegeltent, has had an upgrade allowing for 500-person shows - it's no surprise that the line-up is the biggest one yet!

The festival kicks off on Friday 11 October with a tribute to one of Paisley's most celebrated musicians, Gerry Rafferty, and runs through to Saturday 19 October where comedy headliner Jerry Sadowitz will take to the stage, followed by a late-night closing party courtesy of Tennessee band Hayseed Dixie.

There are still lots of tickets available for shows across the festival so be sure to check the full line-up and get booking.

One of the highlights of The Spree is the ModStuff charity ride out, taking place this year on Saturday 12 October. The event kicks off at 12pm with the ride out, led by the Paisley Vespa Club, taking place at 12:30pm. It's an incredible sight to see all the scooters riding through the town.

There's also plenty for the wee ones, with activities taking place every day during the October school holidays, including the chance to learn some incredible circus skills, and to dance along with the Disney movie Moana.

This year, community groups have the chance to access some of the Spree shows, in partnership with Engage Renfrewshire.

Today (Friday 27 October) is the last day to apply. All you have to do is get in touch with the team and tell them what show you would like to see and how your group would benefit. You can find all the information here.

It's always a memorable week and I love seeing the buzz about the town. There's a huge selection of shows on offer with something for everyone so there's really no excuse not to get involved.

See you there!
