Explore Renfrewshire this Doors Open Days

This weekend is Doors Open Days and I can't wait to get out and explore.

More than 50 buildings across Renfrewshire are taking part - many of which don't normally allow public access.

It's one of my favourite events and I love learning more about the history and heritage of Renfrewshire.

This year I was excited to see many local groups opening their premises to the public for the first time, including Grow in Glenburn, Brediland Allotments and the Renfrewshire Witch Hunt Experience.

I'm especially looking forward to visiting Fountain Gardens who are hosting their first gala day as part of the event. Before that you'll be able to find me in the Renfrewshire Council chambers and I'll also be popping along to Renfrew Police Station in the afternoon.

Last year I was lucky enough to see inside the Abbey Drain and I hope everyone who is going down this year is ready for the incredible experience.

We're so lucky to have such a wealth of culture and heritage on our doorstep and events like Doors Open Days give us the chance to visit these unique places.

Many of the Doors Open Days favourites will be open, along with some new locations. There's something for everyone.

Don't forget to bring your little ones - if they collect five stamps at different buildings then they can get a prize!

I'll see you out there!
