renfrew gala day 2019

MEDIA RELEASE: Renfrewshire families go wild at gala day

People of all ages made their way to Robertson Park on Sunday for Renfrew Gala Day.

This year's event had a jungle theme - and there were a lot of crazy costumes on show.

The proceedings kicked off with a parade leading to Robertson Park, and people took part in a lot of fun activities in the afternoon until 4pm.

Families enjoyed the bargains at the stalls, food and drink at the McMaster Tearoom, and entertainment from local musicians and dancers.

Cllr Cathy McEwan was there on the day.

She said: "Renfrew Gala Day is always a fantastic event and I look forward to it every year.

"It was great to see so many people of all ages joining together to celebrate their community at this free, family day out.

"The local musicians and dancers put on a fantastic show, and it was great to see local businesses there on the day too.

"Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day."
