Renfrewshire's unsung community heroes

Meeting local people is something I love about my role as Provost of Renfrewshire, and I was delighted to hold the 2019 Provost's Community Awards earlier this month, recognising hard working Renfrewshire community members for going above and beyond to make Renfrewshire a better place to live and work.

2019 awards group picture The awards were split across six categories, including a revamped award for employees to recognise their hardworking staff.

We received some incredible nominations this year and it was a privilege to work through the applications with my fellow judges. Our six winners all deserve to be rewarded for their fantastic work and I was delighted to join them at the Lynnhurst hotel to recognise those achievements.

The ceremony was fantastic and I hope all our award winners and invited guests had an incredible time - we even rolled out the red carpet!

Congratulations to all our winners, and thanks to our compere Libby McArthur and the Fèis Phàislig Ceilidh Trail for keeping us entertained on the night.
