Parents urged to apply for school clothing grants

School clothing grants are now £100 per eligible child for the school term 2018/19.

If you have a child or young person heading to school this month, you should check if you can apply for a school clothing grant.

Renfrewshire pupils are now entitled to £100 school clothing grant if they meet the criteria and you can apply whether you have already bought their school uniform or are about to buy one.

If you've received a clothing grant in the past, you won't need to do anything and will automatically receive a £100 grant per eligible child for the 2018/19 term.

To apply or find out more information, click on the Free School Meals and Clothing Grants webpage under 'related links'.

You can also apply for:

  • free school meals (if child is in P4 and upwards)
  • transport (if more than one mile from primary school or two miles from secondary school)

Other helpful things to do are:

  • encourage teenagers aged 16 or older to apply for EMA if they are staying on at school
  • ask your school about breakfast clubs
  • seek further information from the school's handbook or website
  • sign-up for the schools and nurseries e-alerts at www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/e-alerts
