Renfrew Gala Day 2018

Rodeo comes to Renfrew

Around 1500 kids, parents, families and friends set off for a day of Western themed fun at Renfrew Gala Day this weekend.

The day kicked off with a themed parade through the town, ending at Robertson Park and featuring over 300 local participants.

Erskine Music and Media Studio hosted the live stage at the event, and attendees were treated to performances from local singers including groups from Angela McCallum School of Music and RockUs Choir.

Local dance schools Jazzle Dazzle and Karen E Moir Dance and Drama also treated spectators to excellent performances on the day.

Alongside the performances, a variety of activities and stalls had enough to keep everyone entertained.

There was also the opportunity to Beat the Goalie with Renfrew Football Club and 'try' your hand at a spot of Rugby with Paisley Rugby Club.

Renfrewshire's Depute Provost, Cathy McEwan said: "We had a great turn out from the Renfrew community to support the Gala Day.

The quality of the performances and entertainment on offer is always excellent and I hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as I did."
