Renfrewshire Family Information Service

The Renfrewshire Family Information Service provides free, comprehensive and up-to-date information and advice about services for children, young people and their families in Renfrewshire.

Our directory of services is for parents, carers, young people and professionals. We hold information on a wide range of services including:

  • Childcare availability in your area including: nurseries, childminders, playgroups, toddler groups and out of school care
  • Information on pre-school education places for three and four year olds, how to enrol your child for school and education support services
  • How different types of childcare are organised and what to look for when choosing a service
  • Organisations offering support, information and guidance at local and national levels
  • Local activities, events and initiatives

Most parents and carers need affordable childcare that fits into family life, whether they are working, studying or at home. Choosing childcare and early education is a big step for parents, carers and their children and without up-to-date information and advice it can be hard to make the right choice.

Staff can offer advice to callers on how to choose the type of provision most suited to their needs and the needs of their family however no specific recommendations will be made.
