Barrochan Road works - w/c 30 Apr 2018

The previously postponed works to improve the A737 east bound on-ramp at Barrochan Road, Johnstone are now due to commence on 30 April.

The next phase of works means Barrochan Road will have traffic restrictions, resulting in only one lane of traffic, and this will be carried out using traffic lights. These will be supervised and during peak times they will be manually controlled.

The works are scheduled to last 10 weeks. Drivers are advised to allow more time than usual for their journey and plan their route. Southbound traffic from Bridge of Weir, Brookfield and Houston heading for the A737/ M8 is recommended to go to Linclive Interchange via Linwood and avoid Barrochan Road where possible.

Officers from Renfrewshire Council will work closely with the developer to ensure the works run as smoothly and timeously as possible.  The later stage of the works will also involve weekend working due to the nature of the works at that time.

Immediately following these works, resurfacing works will take place on Barrochan Road including the area of road over the A737.

Whilst these roadworks will cause delays in the area, we will work with the developers to ensure these are minimised as much as possible.

The improved junction will aid the traffic flow on Barrochan Road once complete.
