Renfrewshire Council

Met Office yellow warnings for snow and ice remain in place for large parts of the country.

Service update - Monday 5 March 2018

All schools, nurseries and adult day centres are open today.

School transport, including for pupils with additional support needs, is operating as scheduled.

We ask parents be careful when travelling and ensure they are prepared for the road and pavement conditions.

Bin collections

Due to the weather conditions, refuse collections scheduled for today (Monday) have been cancelled.

Due to the number of bins which have been unable to be collected because of the severe weather, we are unable to add them into the following days schedules - as would be normal procedure.

These bins will be collected at the next collection date for that colour of bin. We will also take any excess waste left at the side of the bin.

We will update through our usual channels on a decision tomorrow.

All Household Waste Recycling Centres are open, with supplies of salt available at Erskine, Linwood, Johnstone and Renfrew.

A Yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office for snow and ice between Sunday 10:25 and Monday 23:55.

Please prepare for the conditions you may experience and consider whether your journey is completely necessary.

Take the time to consider others in your local community, particularly elderly or vulnerable residents, and see if there is any additional assistance you can offer them while conditions remain difficult.
