10 things to do in Renfrewshire during the Easter holidays

The Easter holidays are here and Renfrewshire has plenty of exciting events planned to keep everyone entertainment.

Whether you're a fan of cartoons, puppet shows or the great outdoors, we're sure you'll find something you love in our programme of Easter activities.

1 Spring Activity Camps

On-X Linwood and The Lagoon, Paisley, today until Friday, April 14

Renfrew Sports Centre, Park Mains and Johnstone Community Sports Hub, today until Thursday, April 13

Renfrewshire Leisure centres will host a series of activity camps for primary one to seven pupils during the Easter break.

The camps offer a range of fun activities and games, including themed days, sports, and arts and crafts events, to keep children entertained.

There will also be two extended stay options, the Early Risers Club and the Afternoon Kids Zone, offering Wii and giant floor games, arts and crafts and dance mats in a relaxed environment.

2 The Nick Jr. All-Star Easter Takeover

Intu Braehead, Renfrew, today until Monday, April 17 12pm-4pm

Your favourite Nick Jr. All-Stars will visit Intu Braehead's Kids' Club during the Easter holidays.

Children will be able to get their pictures taken on Shimmer and Shine's flying carpet , build their own Blaze and the Monster Machines' contraption and visit the Half Shell Ninja Academy during the Nick Jr. takeover.

An augmented reality game will also bring Nick Jr's favourite characters to life inside the shopping centre!

3 Easter at Lamont Farm Project

Lamont City Farm, Erskine, today until Thursday, April 13

Lamont City Farm will be hosting some egg-citing family friendly events this Easter.

Children will get to test out their farming skills during Farmer for a Day events.

There will also be Fun with Furries and Bunny Bonanza workshops

4 Spring Time Sports

Ferguslie Sports Centre, Paisley, today until Thursday, April 13

Teenagers aged 11 to 18-years-old will be able to try their hand at some new sports during these spring time classes.

Intermediate classes in kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing and gorge walking will be on offer this week.

All activities will being at Ferguslie Sports Centre at 10am.

5 Football Crazy

On-X Linwood, today until Friday, April 14

Primary school pupils will get help improving their football skills during this sports camp.

Children will receive specialist coaching and tips on how to improve their coordination, build their confidence and develop their technique, tactics, shooting and dribbling.

Wee Socka Stars for first steps to five-years-old will also be available.

6 Skoobmobile

Todholm Playing Fields, today until Wednesday, April 12

Shortroods, today until Thursday, April 13

Renfrewshire mobile services for children and families will be holding arts and craft workshops throughout the Easter holidays.

All workshops will be held between 2pm and 4pm.


7 Easter Arts and Crafts at Renfrewshire Libraries

Erskine, Ferguslie, Foxbar, Johnstone, Linwood, Paisley Central and Renfrew Libraries, today until Thursday, April 13

Renfrewshire libraries will be hosting a variety of Easter themed events during the holidays.

Activities include Easter crafts, paint an egg, Easter egg sweetie baskets, an Easter bunny mask making workshop and Easter bingo.

8 Junior Athletics Camp

On-X Linwood,today until Thursday, April 13

If you think you could be the next Usain Bolt or Jessica Ennis-Hill then this could be the camp for you.

The camp will give children aged nine to 15-years-old the chance to showcase their skills and receive specialist training from qualified coaches.

All sessions will be held from 10am-2pm.

9 Willie the Wicked Wolf

25 Church Street, Johnstone, today, 2pm

This interactive puppet show follows Willie and his quest to eat Granny and Red Riding Hood.

Part of the Puppet Animation Festival, the show will be performed in a rickety seaside style puppet booth, which emits bubbles, smoke, jets of water and a variety of props during the performance.

10 Barshaw Golf Camp

Barshaw Golf Club, Paisley, today until Friday, April 14, 10am-12pm

Budding Rory McIlroy's will be treated to some professional golf coaching during this camp.

The camp for seven to 11-year-olds includes sessions with a qualified golf professional and two free junior passes for a round of golf at Barshaw.
