Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) - Annual Reports

Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) was established under the terms of the Management of Offenders (Scotland) Act 2005, which placed duties on Police, Local Authorities, the Scottish Prison Service and Health Authorities to establish joint arrangements for the assessment and management of risk posed by certain offenders, currently sexual offenders and restricted patients. These arrangements are supported by national guidance and procedures.

Community Justice Authorities are under a statutory obligation to provide and publish annual reports. Previous reports (for example) those completed in 2007/8, 2008/9 and 2009/10 were published on the Scottish Government website (you can find links to these reports below). However from 2010/11 onwards reports will be published on the North Strathclyde Community Justice Authority Website (NSCJA).

The 2016/17 NSCJA MAPPA annual report has now been published.  NSCJA reports provide information on MAPPA in this area including statistics, management principles, key agencies and their responsibilities, risk management and work with victims.

A national overview report will continue to be published on the Scottish Government website.
