Renfrew Day Centre

Renfrew day centre provides day care to older people who have been assessed as requiring a service to help them remain in their community and be as independent as possible. The centre caters for older people who have a diagnosis of dementia, or who have a reduced physical capacity.

A typical day in the centre offers varied activities which promote social interaction and aim to meet individual, personal, physical and health care needs.

We offer support with personal care. We encourage clients to enjoy company and take advantage of the many activities/social events and services which we provide. These include:

  • outings;
  • group activities (quiz games, music);
  • Occupational Therapy
  • District Nurses
  • Physiotherapy
  • library service; and
  • support and advice to carers.

We provide tea and snacks on arrival, lunch, then afternoon tea or juice and biscuits. We cater for all dietary needs. There is a day care charge and a small fee for meals. Staff can tell you how much it will cost, or give you a price list of additional services such as hairdressing or chiropody.

What is the centre like?

Renfrew Day Centre is purpose built single storey building. It is light and airy and has a main dining area and lounge, 3 sitting areas, hairdressing salon and garden.

It is suitable for people who use wheelchairs and there are handrails throughout for those with poor mobility.

  • Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 4.30pm

Policies and procedures

Copies are available and staff will be pleased to help you with any issues arising.

All children visiting the unit are required to be supervised at all times by an accompanying adult.

You can also let us know what you think about meals, activities, staff and transport at any time. We also encourage feedback on a regular basis by issuing mini surveys and hosting reviews.

Participation

In accordance with our participation strategy we actively seek your views in making decisions about the centre. You can, if you wish, get involved in:

  • carers group/meetings;
  • staff meetings;
  • client meetings; and
  • recruitment of staff.

How do I access this service?

You can contact the Adult Services Referral Team (ASeRT) and staff are always happy to help.  Details at bottom of the page.

GPs and other healthcare professionals can also make referrals. Once you have been referred, a member of our staff will contact you to arrange to visit you at home and assess your needs.
