Who can get a council tax discount for care providers
You may qualify for a discount on your council tax bill if you give or receive care. At least 35 hours of care must be provided each week.
The following levels of discount or exemption may be available:
| If you | Discount |
|---|---|
| provide care for another adult you live with (excluding spouses and children under the age of 18) | 25% discount |
| are cared for by an adult you live with | 25% discount |
| live elsewhere to provide care for another adult and your property is unoccupied | 100% exemption |
| are cared for elsewhere and your property is unoccupied | 100% exemption |
