Renfrewshire Council

Temporary cycleways

It's important that whatever form of transport you choose to use, be it car, bike or walking, that you are safe on our roads and are able to travel without worry.

Cycleways ensure that active travel is a viable option for people as there are safe, accessible routes and, in line with our climate change aspirations, we want to encourage people to leave the car at home whenever they can.

The proposed cycleways would make it easier and safer for cyclists to commute and use the roads in general, but we will continue to take the views of residents on board.

We surveyed residents and key community partners in July on the proposed cycleways and this is helping to inform the final designs of the projects.

Cycleways have been proposed at the following locations:

  • Barrhead Road (Lonend to Hawkhead Road roundabout)
  • Bridge of Weir to Houston
  • Causeyside Street
  • Glasgow Road (west of Hawkhead Road)
  • Greenock Rd, Inchinnan
  • Howwood to Paisley
  • Inchinnan Rd, Paisley
  • Inchinnan Rd, Renfrew
  • Paisley to Renfrew
